16 Aug Couples’ Getaway Guide For a Weekend in the Poconos
Poconos Romantic Weekend: Our Favorite Getaways
After a long, stressful month you decide: it’s time for a romantic getaway to the Poconos. But while you have the idea, you don’t necessarily know exactly what this Poconos vacation will entail. Well, we have you covered!
Below are a few ideas to help you plan the perfect weekend in the Poconos:
- Stay the Night at Paradise Stream Resort
- Take a Private Horseback Ride for Two!
- Enjoy a Relaxed and Romantic Meal at Kasa’s Pizza
- Curb Your Sweet Tooth with Your Sweet at Callie’s Candy Kitchen
Down in Paradise Valley, right in the heart of the Pocono Mountains, is Paradise Stream Resort. Why stay here? Well, firstly, Paradise Stream is a couples ONLY resort. No children running around yelling for/at their parents… it’ll be the quietist stay at a resort you’ve ever had. In addition, because it is a couples only resort, everything is aimed to please couples: from the Champagne Tower bathtub to booking your stay to include ACTUAL champagne, rose petals all over the room, and (best of all) chocolate covered cheesecake…. you won’t need to go anywhere else!
Now let’s be real though, while you’ll be spending plenty of time in the hotel room it can only offer so much entertainment. You’ve gotta go out, get photos, show off the love of your life! Lucky for you Mountain Creek Riding Stable is within walking distance of Paradise Stream. Take you and your loved one on a 45 minute ride into the woods of Paradise Valley, all the while taking awesome pictures for Instagram. But you’ve never ridden you say? Fortunately we specialize in first-timers and our friendly guides are great with newbies! Reservations are highly recommended.
3: Kasa’s Pizza
After your ride you’re likely to be hungry… and again, luck would have you take only a short walk to satisfaction! Kasa’s Pizza is a long-standing pizza place that was originally opened in 1978 and has since burned down *twice* and STILL came back to great success! This is all due to the delicious food and ice cream they sell. And remember, there’s no such thing as calories on vacation!
Before you head back to the room, go out and get some indulgences from a unique local shop. Callie’s Candy Kitchen has been open since 1975 and is only about a 15 minute drive from Paradise Stream. The candy kitchen houses a museum dedicated to the founder and his candy making exploits. Offering peanut brittle, gummy bears, hard candies, turtles, lollipops, and of course chocolate, there is something to love for everyone… you and your sweetheart included!
