In the list below, we have sunrise photography, waterfall photography, hiking photography and the best areas for a group photo. Give us a mention on Instagram or Facebook if you hit these places up as we would love to feature you on the website!

The Best Places to Go and Photograph in the Poconos:

Photo Op #1 – The Waterfall Shot – Hawk Falls

Hawk Falls located in Hickory Run

  • Location: 3613 PA-534, White Haven, PA 18661
  • There are lots of waterfalls in the Pocono Mountains. However, if you want an authentic spot that only the locals know, we recommend Hawk Falls located in Hickory Run State Park. It might not be the biggest or flashiest waterfall, but it’s the one we love the most.

Photo Op #2 – The Landscape Shot – Big Pocono State Park

Big Pocono State Park from the top.

  • Location: 980 Camelback Rd, Tannersville, PA 18372
  • Big Pocono State Park is often overlooked because of it’s proximity to other entertainment. This gem offers excellent hiking and, up at the top, a fantastic view! On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Delaware Water Gap.

Photo Op #3 – The Group Shot – Horseback Trail Ride at Mt. Creek Stable

  • Location: 6190 Paradise Valley Rd, Cresco, PA 18326
  • Group shots aren’t so much about where you take them as what you’re doing when you take them. So to set yourselves apart, take a photo of everyone on horseback! Of course, the picture will be a small part of a great time out. You’ll get photos from the ride itself, but also you’ll give everyone great memories for years to come.

Photo Op #4 – “Out Hiking” Shot – Boulder Field

A field of boulders in the mid-afternoon sun.

  • Location: 3613 PA-534, White Haven, PA 18661
  • Everyone loves a good outdoorsy selfie, and the best way to make it different is a unique backdrop! Nothing could be more novel than Boulder Field, located in the heart of Hickory Run State Park. It’s an attraction unique to the Poconos, and we highly recommend it.

Be sure to print the photos afterward as it’s no good keeping them stored “up in the cloud”! Enjoy!
