What to do?

If you’re looking for that special something that will give you great memories of your honeymoon then we’ve got you covered! You can call and book a private horseback ride for just you and your significant other. It’s also something you can do year after year if you want, really make a tradition out of celebrating your marriage!

Depending on your riding ability this can be a slow, easy ride at Mountain Creek or you can do a more adventurous ride down to the waterfall at The Ranch at Pocono Manor. Or, if you want something more lowkey, you can always look into a private carriage ride! For other ideas, feel check out our blog about date ideas.

Where to stay?

If you’re looking for somewhere unique to stay look no further than Paradise Stream Resort (or one of their sister resorts within the Cove-Pocono Resorts family, Pocono Palace Resort or Cove Haven Resort). Each resort is a couples-only destination that is made for lovers. If you’re intent on riding with us then Paradise Stream is closest to us.

If you’re looking for something family friendly then Pocono Manor Resort and Spa is a great choice and is only 1 mile away from The Ranch at Pocono Manor! Our last recommendation is for those of you looking for something more secluded: The French Manor Inn and Spa is nestled in the woods on top of a small mountain and offers beautiful views.

What is the best season for honeymooning?

The best season during which you should honeymoon in the Pocono Mountains is…. the one you love the most! It may sound corny, but the beautiful Pocono Mountains has all four season and, in general, no season where the weather is a problem consistently.

The summer is great for all of your favorite outdoor activities but with temperatures that (especially now with climate change) are much more mild than comparable destinations. The Fall brings some of the most beautiful leaf watching this side of Vermont. The Winter finds great skiing and some of the most tranquil horseback riding you can experience. And Spring is wonderful because, while the weather is fine, a majority of people tend to stay home and save up vacation time for Summer, so you won’t run into the crowds if you plan for Spring.

What are the most romantic places in the Poconos?

One of the best places to visit that can be a little day trip while you’re staying in the Poconos is Jim Thorpe. This town prides itself on being tourist friendly and has many activities and cute shops and restaurants… you have to check out the town’s website run by the Tourism Board for all of the details but we guarantee you will love it!

Outside of this, much closer to home is a small town called Cresco that is only about 15 minutes away from our Mountain Creek Location. While not built for tourists, there are antique shops, Callie’s Candy Kitchen and Callie’s Pretzel Factory, two local places that produce their own candy and pretzels, and hidden gems for dining like Basso Italiana, a local Italian restaurant with excellent food.

Are you in the process of planning a wedding?

If you’re not YET married and instead are looking to hold your wedding in the Poconos or surrounding areas we may be able to help make it the perfect day! We offer a horse-drawn white carriage with our friendly driver. We can travel to you or, if you decide to use Pocono Manor Resort (mentioned above) for your venue we’ll just travel down the road!
